How to make The Perfect Brew

You are the barista when you brew your own cup of coffee. No matter if you are on a hike or enjoying the morning on your back deck, you deserve the perfect shot of coffee!

Here’s how to get it.

For your perfect brew every time, according to your taste, its best to always control the extraction of the grind, precisely and uniformly every time.

It comes down to the extraction method used on the bean that determines the potency and flavor profile in your mouth, your pallet. Control these

5 variables and you will get your perfect brew, out of your favorite bean, every time!

1. Temperature of the water

As the temperature of the water increases, different compounds are extracted from the bean. For example, a cooler, or a cold brew extraction extracts less ketones and aldehydes from the grind. This will give you a smoother, less acidic brew but may extract less caffeine, aromatics, and flavors.   On the other hand, if the water is boiling water or steam, the acidic or bitter components are fully extracted along with a full component of flavors and aromas. One of the tricks, to achieve a perfect brew for you is to control the temperature of the extraction. Get only what you want extracted into your perfect pallet. Some like it smooth, some like a little more bite.   Temperature of the water used for the extraction must always be controlled to achieve the perfect result for your taste. If your brewing device does not have a temperature gauge and allow you to change temperatures as desired, you’re being cheated. The Bripe coffee brew pipe, portable coffee brewing devise allows for perfect temperature control every time.   The brewing temperature suggested for full flavors and less acidity or bitterness is 185-190 degrees Fahrenheit. This will leave most of the bitterness in the grind while getting maximum aroma and flavor into the cup

2. Full and uniform contact with the grind

Uniform extraction of the grind is another important factor in achieving the perfect brew. Full immersion of the grind into the water as it is being extracted is the most efficient and uniform method. For example, the challenge with pour overs and drips can be that the first grind contacted is extracted hotter than below as the water is slightly cooled as it passes slowly through the grind. Some of the grind may also be in contact with the water less than other parts of the grind, depending on the barista or the machine. The Bripe coffee brew pipe is a full immersion extraction devise that provides a uniform extraction of all of the grind, the same. This is a better more uniform extraction of all the grind.

3. Duration of the extraction

The amount of time that water is in contact with the grind during the extraction is also critical. To achieve the perfect cup, with the most efficient use of the grind, the time that the water is uniformly in contact with all of the grind must be controlled.   Too much time in contact can lead to an over extraction that may be too bitter, or too strong. Too little time in contact with the grind may not give you all the flavors and caffeine that you want for your taste. The Bripe coffee brew pipe again is designed for the perfect residence time with the grind to achieve the complete extraction that you desire for your taste. Two to three minutes is a great extraction time in the cooling cycle of the Bripe.

4. Filtration

Filtration is another important variable that is often overlooked. Complete filtration is important so that the grind is not in the cup and then end up in your pallet. The Bripe coffee brew pipe kit has a precision stainless filter with variable hole settings from 200 to 400 micron settings for your perfect filtration control.

5. Grind Size

The smaller the grind, the greater the surface area of contact for a quicker extraction and more thorough extraction quickly. If you want a quicky, grind small. The caution is that it is easier to over extract a small grind especially when the water is over 190. A drip or a French press grind, with the full immersion Bripe Brew Pipe is perfect. If you are bent on over extraction, the Turkish reflux is the way to go. Bripe is uniquely qualified for this. A Turkish brew with the Bripe should use a fine espresso grind (#3) with the smallest hole size of the Bripe variable filter carefully placed down in front of the hole. Bring it to boil, stir with thermometer and let the froth go down. Do this two more times, add a tad or cane sugar and cream, stir and cool to 140. Voila. Perfect Turkish, only a Bripe can do. No other brewer can bring it to reflux 3 times and filter the grind. None. Any grind size under #3 may be difficult to filter.

In summary, The Bripe Coffee Brew Pipe kit is the perfect solution for achieving the perfect, uniform brew every time. Bripe is the portable coffee brewing solution you have been looking for!
